Roofing material

Walthers Roofing material

I tried out some of the Walthers Cornerstone Roof Texture material on two of the flat topped buildings I used for my Doctor Who Terror at Devils Bay game and was very pleased with the results.

To prep I sanded and primed the flat plastic roofs then spray painted them flat black (you could just prime flat black also). Once dry I used Weldbond white glue to secure the Walthers Cornerstone roof textur which is very much like a fine railway ballast or sand in terms of texture.  As for the colouring it is a mix of greys, some black and a small amount of something that creates a slight sparkling effect.  This mixture gives an illusion of depth rather than just having a monotone grey adds an element of realism.

The exact name of the product is: Walthers Cornerstone 933-502 HO Roof Texture Gray, and you can find it in your local hobby shops HO model railway section.
