Catching up on some AAR of games prior to my creating this Blog. Back in May 2013 I ran my annual Doctor Who game using the Doctor Who Miniature Games (DWMG) rules at the Cangames 2013 convention in May of that year. This game featured the 7th Doctor (Sylvester McCoy), Ace (Sophie Alfred) plus Morgaine (Jean Marsh) and her dimension shifting Knights that was based on the TV episode and book "Battlefield." A summary of the TV episode with pictures can be found here:

Above: Morgaine's knights, figures by Alternative Armies: Iron Age Retained KnightsBackground
In
the English countryside near the village of Carbury, a nuclear missile convoy
under the command of UNIT's new commander, Brigadier Winifred Bambera, has run
into difficulties. Lying on the bed of the nearby Lake Vortigern is a spaceship
from another dimension containing the body of King Arthur, supposedly held in
suspended animation, and his sword Excalibur.
Ancelyn, a knight from the other dimension, arrives on Earth to aid the King
but is followed by his rival Mordred and the latter's mother, a powerful
sorceress named Morgaine. They all recognize the Doctor as Merlin - a fact that
the Time Lord attributes to events in his own future.
When Bambera reports that someone called The Doctor has turned up, Brigadier
Lethbridge-Stewart is brought out of retirement to assist in the crisis and
stop the Destroyer - an awesomely powerful creature unshackled by Morgaine -
from devouring the world.
Initial set up above.
Scenario
The UNIT convoy 'Salamander Six', is stuck by the shore of Lake Vortigern, which is represented by one table edge. In the centre of the board edge is a partially excavated tunnel. In front of this is the nuclear missile itself, with other UNIT vehicles parked around it in a rough horseshoe. Beyond these vehicles are defensive emplacements , each large enough for two soldiers and one heavy weapon, which form the outer defences.
Some cover is provided by trees, low hills and ruined buildings, but none must be closer than 18” to the nearest UNIT bunker.
No figures may enter the lake (unless they use the escape hatch - see below). The whole table counts as ‘rough terrain’ for wheeled vehicles.
The TARDIS
The Underwater Spaceship
It takes one move for figures to traverse the tunnel to the underwater spaceship. There ‘Arthur the freeze dried’ lies in state with his sword Excalibur. This area is best represented by a separate board one foot square.
There is an escape hatch at the back of the ship. Figures which use it emerge next turn on the shore of Lake Vortigern.
Rosters:
Heroic: 7th Doctor (Merlin), Ace, Brigadier Leathbridge-Stewart, Brigadier Bambera, Ancelyn,
Flight
Lieutenant Françoise Lavel and 15 UNIT troops including a sergeant, 1 GPMG and 2 bazookas.
Monster: Morgaine, Mordred, 10 knights and the Destroyer of Worlds.
Ending the Game:
The game ends if the Earth is destroyed, one side has no figures left or if
Morgaine has tried and failed to use The Destroyer or the Nuclear Missile.
If the Earth is destroyed Morgaine wins, otherwise the winner is decided by
Victory Points system. As there is ‘more honour with the sword’ Morgaine cannot
count any figures killed with blasters.

Doctor and Ace getting out of Bessie
Morgaine's high tech Knights
Despite their excellent armour the Knights take casualties
Morgaine's forces advance but take casualties
Penultimate battle near the convoy, the tunnel on the left that leads to the spaceship
Morgain with her son Mordred and their forces fails to reach the nuclear missile and launch it. She now retreats to the underwater tomb and attempt to summon the Destroyer of worlds using the sword Excalibur.
The battle under the Lake in Arthur's Tomb
Inside the Space ship under the lake the Doctor, Ace, and the Brigadier with some UNIT troops gain entry into the underwater tomb in the space ship and confront Morgaine and some of her knights, a battle ensues.
Battle inside near Arthur's tomb, Aces bombs help!
The Doctor stops Moragine's scheme, the Destroyer of Worlds is dispelled and Excalibur returned to the tomb.
Conclusion:
The players enjoyed this scenario a lot and it was a pleasure to run.
