The Four / Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse by Reaper Miniatures as used in SAGA Age of Magic.

 These are the Four  Horsemen of the Apocalypse by Reaper miniatures, which are actually five figures as I added in the Reaper Harbinger figure.

I have recently used these figures when I was playing SAGA Age of Magic (AoM) with the special Undead options for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In SAGA AoM the four horsemen are: Death, Conquest, Famine and War.   As you can see the Reaper designations shown above and SAGA AoM designations don't match exactly. Nor do they match to the Biblical descriptions (see later on).

 I picked riders number 2,3,4 and 5 pictured above to use as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as designated by SAGA AoM: Death, Conquest, Famine and War.  I use figure number 1 on at the far left on the wolf as an alternate SAGA AoM Four Horsemen figure as: Conquest or War.

Reaper of the Apocalypse “Plague” on undead wolf. Catalogue number 02002. Armoured skeletal ride on zombie wolf. The assembled model is approximately 50mm tall x 60mm long.

Reaper of the Apocalypse “War” on undead lion. Catalogue number 02003. Armoured skeletal rider standing on the back of a zombie lion rampant. A single piece casting. The model is 65mm tall x 55mm long not counting the separately cast spear.

Reaper of the Apocalypse “Famine” on undead horse. Catalogue number 02001. Armoured skeletal rider on zombie horse. The assembled model is approximately 55mm tall x 65mm long.

 

Reaper of the Apocalypse “Pestilence” on undead ram. Catalogue number 02004. Armoured skeletal rider with shield on zombie ram with separately cast ram’s head. The assembled model is approximately 55mm tall x 50mm long.

 

As you can see the Reaper Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are not really all  "horsemen" as three of the mounts are a: Lion, Ram and wolf, and only one is a horse (famine).

I also added in the Reaper Harbinger miniature that works very well for Death as he is mounted on a horse with a scythe and is obviously a Harbinger of Death.

In the Biblical descriptions as in the Book of Revelation the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse representing the evils visited on the world are described as:  conquest rides a white horse; war, a red horse; famine, a black horse; and plague, a pale horse.

In my SAGA AOM games on August 23 and October 12, 200 I used above figures (L-R) as: War, Death, Conquest and Famine

 

A different possible combination below:

 

Reaper designation: Harbinger, Pestilence, Famine and Plague

In SAGA AOM the above (L-R) would be used  as: Death, War, Famine and Conquest. 

This is a combination I have yet to use as the Reaper Pestilence figure is not an ideal fit for War, and I might the mounted Lion figure for him. But I really like the Wolf figure so don't like leaving him out, but I could say the same for all the figures!
